After my success working on the PureGym Connect app identity, I was drafted in, a year on, to develop the Personal Trainer network version of the platform. This would provide all training and information needed to the UK’s largest network of PTs.

The Head of Personal Training at PureGym, wanted this to be a departure from the brand and Connect. Putting Personal Trainers first.

Initial sketching and discovery

With any project, I like to start with my sketch book in hand. The brief given here to approach this as a new unique app identity, helps drive this discovery time building out word associations, iconography, lettermarks, etc.

Sketches to rapid prototyping, quickly allowed me to see which routes felt the most viable for the client.

Colors play a crucial role in shaping perceptions, evoking emotions, and establishing recognition for a brand. Blue is most often known for representing trust and stability which felt like a strong starting point for this community first identity.
